December 20, 2011 - FIRM'S APPEAL OF YEAR LONG SUSPENSION OF MIAMI BASKETBALL STAR DEQUAN JONES A SUCCESS.

When University of Miami basketball star DeQuan Jones was suspended from competition in the NCAA he retained Jason A. Setchen, P.A. to represent his interests with the NCAA and the University of Miami.  The firm filed an appeal with the University on behalf of DeQuan and also worked closely with the NCAA to reach an amicable resolution which resulted in DeQuan's immediate reinstatement to the team.  The story was highlighted by many national news outlets.   Click here for AP story, here for Miami Herald story and here for Palm Beach Post.

September 9, 2011 - FIRM SUCCESSFULLY RESOLVES PATERNITY CASE INVOLVING MUSICIAN "PITBULL"

The firm is proud to announce that an amicable confidential settlement was reached in the Pitbull paternity case.  The story was international news and was covered by countless media outlets including the Miami Herald.

November 10, 2010 - JASON SETCHEN SELECTED TO SERVE 3 YEAR TERM ON FLORIDA BAR GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

Jason A. Setchen, Esq. was selected to serve on the Florida Bar's Grievance Committee.  This is a high honor for an attorney and Jason is very humbled to have been selected to serve a three year term commencing in January 2011. 

September 3, 2010 - FIRM SUCCESSFULLY REPRESENTS TOP FOOTBALL RECRUIT IN ELIGIBILITY APPEAL WITH FHSAA

The firm is pleased to announce that we successfully represented highly recruited defensive back, Keith Baxter, in his eligibility appeal against the Florida High School Athletic Association ("FHSAA").  The firm was retained to represent Keith and to assist Homestead Senior High School with respect to an eligibility issue affecting Keith's ability to participate in football in his final season. 

At the time eligibility was challenged, Keith was entertaining formal scholarship offers from Division I schools including Florida International University, Syracuse University, Marshall University, University of Memphis, Kansas State and New Mexico. 

The appeal proved successful thanks in part to the hard work of Jason A. Setchen, P.A. coupled with the assistance of Keith, the Baxter family and Homestead Senior High School's Athletic Director, Aaron Harris.  As a result of the successful appeal, Keith was able to play football his senior year.  As expected Keith had a breakout season and recently verbally accepted a full athletic football scholarship to Marshall University.

March 1, 2010 - JASON A. SETCHEN, P.A. SELECTED TOP "UP AND COMERS" BY SOUTH FLORIDA LEGAL GUIDE

The prestigious South Florida Legal Guide has published their long-awaited 10 Year Anniversary Edition and Jason A. Setchen, P.A. was named one of South Florida's "Top Legal Up and Comers" by the distinguished Legal Guide. 

The firm is very pleased to be recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide and is proud to share the honor with the likes of only a select few firms receiving the same distinction in the area of Family Law.

2009 - FIRM'S SUCCESSFUL INVOLVEMENT IN MUSIC PRODUCER SCOTT STORCH PATERNITY CASE CITED IN BILLBOARD MAGAZINE

The firm's hard work in connection with the Scott Storch paternity matter had an amicable resolution.  In an article in Billboard Magazine concerning Mr. Storch, the magazine cited the law firm and the work done in connection with the case on behalf of the mother of Mr. Stoch's child.  The story can be read here.
